A little something I painted for Gabberz Wabberz. She's wanted something from me since we met 2 years ago, thats quite a long wait. She always has kittens or puppies at her place and she has a African Grey called Georgi Porgi that emulates the sound of doors slamming and phone's ringing which keeps you on your toes!

Just received the 1st copy of I LOVE YOUR WORK put together by the Glockers crew. Pretty cool to see a zine come out of SA for a change, its full of pieces, dubs, throwups and tags mostly by the GLKRs gang. Nice.

Found this rummaging through my cupboards. Painted this for a grade 8 practical exam - dead mouse and bird on Disney paper plates hahah. Don't know what I was thinking but still it makes me laugh.

LEM BEFOK CHAPTER 2

Poster I designed for Lem Befok Ch 2, come through its going to be sick, the last one was absolutely bananas!

STENCIL

This was our first college brief for the term. We had to choose a personal trait and depict it through body language and expression, then make that image monochrome and paint it up on A1 board, also choosing a colour that related to the concept. Mine revolved around punk rock and PMA (but I wont go into detail on here). I seriously thought doing a stencil would be easier than painting but I was totally wrong I think it took like 3 times longer haha. Me and my stanley knife are now best friends.

ESSENTIALS

This 15cm metal ruler is pretty much the most practical piece of stationary in the world. My man Christi Crunch agrees!

I also can't live without these retractable Clic erasers, been using em for years.

CRUNCH DESIGN

I LOVE MY LAUNDRY

In the last week of college we were asked to do something for a local laundromat/ restaurant/ gallery space/ brick a brack store (?). The 10 best were then exhibited and up for sale. We were encouraged to explore new mediums we weren't familiar with and as I had only used ink and brush once before I thought I'd give it another go. I am now totally in love with this medium it's the shit. I love how super refined or totally expressive you can be with the line work. The colour is done in gouache which is also a favourite as its just so damn FLAT!

Here's hoping I get to exhibit this and double hoping it sells!

KERNING

For this project we had to go out and take pictures of shop signs that had really bad kerning. Then we came back, found a similar font and remade the signs with the correct kerning.

Everything done by hand, this is fine liner and permanent marker on A3 paper.

DELICIOUS MONSTER

For this college brief we had to use the anatomy of type to create some sort of hybrid or 'monster' which depicted a certain emotion. I cant remember all the options but I chose to go with irritation.

Where the two legs of the K meet is known as a 'crotch', so I figured what's more irritating than an itchy crotch? This got me my first A at college.

Lil Gabberz and Mishka came round to hang out and Mishka asked me to drop her nickname on her new cap. She was chuffed.

ENGEN

I was employed to paint a skateboard for an Engen advert celebrating the fact that they had been crowned "coolest petroleum brand" by SA's youth 2nd year in a row. What makes a petrol station "cool" is beyond me.

The graphics on the board were designed by the ad agency's in house designer, I offered to draw them up some real graffiti lettering but it wasn't in their budget, so I merely copied the design exactly. As much as I appreciate the work why don't they just get a real graffiti writer to do some proper lettering instead of this failed attempt? I guess the kids won't notice. (They do.)
